Appeals officers Derrick Brooks and James Thrash, appointed jointly by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, reduced the penalties from suspensions to fines of $50,000 for Broncos' Randy Gregory and $12,000 for Los Angeles Rams' Oday Aboushi.
The Denver outside linebacker had his one-game suspension overturned Tuesday night, the NFL announced.
Gregory was originally suspended one game without pay for a post-game altercation with Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Oday Aboushi in which Gregory threw a punch and then got punched back. On Tuesday, however, appeals officers Derrick Brooks and James Thrash, appointed jointly by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, reduced the penalties for both players from suspensions to fines of $50,000 for Gregory and $12,000 for Aboushi.
Most of Gregory’s income this year came in the form of a signing bonus, so the $50,000 fine means he will miss most of his game check for Sunday’s contest at Kansas City. He will be eligible to play, however.
