Britney Spears is finally ready to speak out.Two years after a judge terminated her 13-year-long conservatorship, the superstar bares all about fame, success, motherhood, and more in her new memoir, The Woman in Me, which officially drops on October 24. She opened up about her intention behind penning the book in a new, rare interview with People.“Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me,” she told the outlet.
”In an excerpt published by People, Spears writes candidly about losing a sense of her own identity under the conservatorship. “I’d been eyeballed so much growing up. I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager. Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back,” she wrote. “But under the conservatorship I was made to understand that those days were now over. I had to grow my hair out and get back into shape.
