Accommodation is being sought for 17 residents whose homes were evacuated because of the blaze.
By Flaminia LuckSeventeen people and their pets have been rescued from a fire that spread through a block of flats in Brighton.Fire crews went to the scene of the blaze, which caused disruption and some closures to nearby roads.
Residents have been taken to a local rest centre, says East Sussex Fire and Rescue , which has since put out the fire and scaled back the response.The fire service confirmed the blaze has now been put out Brighton and Hove City Council said: "We're helping 10 households find accommodation as they cannot return to their homes at present.ESFRS said Lewes Road was due to reopen on Tuesday morning, however Saunders Park View remains closed.
