EIGHT. AND WELCOME BACK TO NEWS EIGHT TODAY. AND REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER, THIS WEEKEND’S MAJOR REPAIRS ARE GOING TO SHUT DOWN PART OF I-83 AS WELL AS THE QUEEN STREET BRIDGE IN YORK COUNTY. NOW, THOSE BRIDGE REPAIRS ACTUALLY STARTED LAST NIGHT, AND THEY’RE GOING TO CONTINUE UNTIL 6 A.M. ON MONDAY MORNING. THE REPAIRS ARE THE RESULT OF TWO CRASHES THAT HAPPENED MORE THAN A YEAR AGO WHEN TRUCKS HIT THE BRIDGE AND DAMAGED THE SUPPORT BEAMS.
This weekend, major repairs will shut down part of Interstate 83, as well as the Queen Street bridge in York County.The bridge repairs are expected to continue until 6 a.m. Monday.The repairs are a result of two crashes that happened more than a year ago, when trucks hit the bridge, damaging the support beams.Detour signs are posted around the construction area.This weekend, major repairs will shut down part of Interstate 83, as well as the Queen Street bridge in York County.
