Brian Laundrie’s parents have motioned to dismiss a civil lawsuit filed by the parents of Gabby Petito
The Laundrie family attorney, Steve Bertolino, filed a 20-page motion on Wednesday asking a Florida judge to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, and called the lawsuit ‘baseless and frivolous.’ The lawsuit filed by the Petito parents alleges that Laundrie had told his parents about Gabby’s death ‘on or about’ August 28.
The lawsuit points to texts sent from Laundrie’s cellphone and Gabby’s, which her parents believe he sent following her death ‘in an attempt to hide the fact that she was deceased.’ The lawsuit also claims that Laundrie sent another text from Gabby’s phone to her mother telling her that there was no service in Yosemite Park ‘in an effort to deceive’ her into believing her daughter was still alive.
