A strange scene developed in the top of the fifth inning with the bases loaded and Daniel Vogelbach on second. Washington third baseman Ildemaro Vargas and Mets third-base coach Joey Cora appeared to have words for each other. Vogelbach somehow joined the verbal fight and jawed with Vargas as some players and both teams’ managers wandered over.
