Bredagh and Creggan were both relegated from Division Two in the Antrim League, but will clash on Sunday in the first round of the Ulster Club Intermediate Championship
Ruairi McCann has hailed the influence of Antrim star Conor McCann as Creggan bid to topple Bredagh in Sunday’s Ulster Club Intermediate Hurling Championship quarter-final.
Fellow dual star Ruairi McCann knows Creggan can ill-afford to be without a player of that quality and says it is difficult to juggle both codes with the Kickhams also competing at senior level in football.“He is obviously a brilliant hurler as well, but he brings so much more than his own individual ability.
Creggan defeated Sarsfield’s by five points to clinch a first Intermediate title in eight years. Kickhams won Ulster in 2015 and were All-Ireland champions at junior level back in 2014.“To be fair, we are lucky that we are a dual club. The younger lads have played in Ulster, in the football quarter-final when we played Clann Éireann in 2021,” added McCann.
Bredagh coach Philip Maguire feels playing at a higher level in recents season stood to them this term.
