FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaska Congressman Don Young passed away today while traveling home to Alaska at the age of 88. His wife, Anne, was by his side.
Don Young, the Dean of the House has served in Congress since 1973, making him the longest serving member of the U.S. House. Young was in his 25th term in Congress. “Don Young’s legacy as a fighter for the state will live on, as will his fundamental goodness and his honor,” the statement from his office read in part. “We will miss him dearly.
