earned a whopping $6.2 million in preview screenings, including Thursday evening shows and the Wednesday night sneak previews. That’s double the $3 million earned by the firstin its preview frame back in mid-February of 2020. The original film, buoyed by years of interest, decent reviews and a certain cross-nostalgia coup that was Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, opened with $58 million over the Fri-Sun frame of its $70 million Fri-Mon President’s Day opening weekend.
