The 40-story Astra Tower located at 200 South State Street, which houses an apartment complex and business office, was topped off with its final steel beam Thursday, reaching 450 feet.The building now exceeds Utah's former tallest high-rise, the Wells Fargo building in Salt Lake, standing at 422 feet.GALLERY: Groundbreaking ceremony held for what will be the tallest building in Utah
The event featured 600 construction workers along with Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall and Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson, all who gathered to sign the beam prior to the ceremonial placement.
