Bottega Veneta hosted a cocktail party in celebration of its latest collection—the first designed by its new creative director, the Celine-bred Daniel Lee.
. At Chelsea’s West Edge guests were guided into an antique elevator, which let out onto a space that, per Lee’s design, evoked all things Italy. Attendees were greeted by the song “Ancora Tu” by singer Roisin Murphy, and films like Fellini’swere projected on walls. And among the highlights in Italian culture was, of course, fashion—Bottega Veneta’s ready-to-wear collection was displayed alongside the brand’s leather-woven handbags, shoes, and accessories.
“While we’ve always had ready-to-wear in the collection, it was certainly not the focus in the last couple of years,” said Bottega Veneta’s Gerrit Ruetzel. “It’s a very key and essential piece for Daniel, and I think that is what people will see tonight.” Attendees, including Tali Lennox, Chloe Wise, and Daphne Groeneveld, likely did take note.
Also present was Helena Christensen, who waxed poetic on the label. “When you buy a Bottega piece, you just know you are buying into something you will cherish for the rest of your life.”buy; upon arrival everyone received a key, one of which unlocked a nappa Maxi Cabat bag that was theirs for the taking.
