These opinion polls have left MPs shaken, and many do not believe their party could win the next general election under Johnson’s leadership, with the Conservatives tipped to lose two upcoming by-elections in the South-West, and in the north of England.From now until the vote, Johnson and his opponents will subject their undecided parliamentary cohort to vigorous lobbying in order to gain their support.
