Another of Lancashire's pubs appears to be lost forever after its building was gutted months after its closure.
The historic boozer has sat on the corner of Delf Lane and School Lane for more than a century, hosting celebrations, community events and even beer festivals as different generations passed through. It was described by Camra as having an "interior of special national historic interest" but its function as a hub for the surrounding hamlet of Haskayne now appears to be over though with locals expecting it to be converted into housing.
What happens next is yet to be publicly confirmed and no planning application has yet been registered by West Lancashire Borough Council. But it is widely believed within the village that the pub is likely to be converted into housing, with some believing that houses could also be built on the surrounding parcel of land.
