Tuesday’s meeting comes two weeks after the City Council approved the Boerne Mobility Master Plan, The council unanimously approved the Boerne Mobility Master Plan, which the city describes as “a long-range plan that seeks to create a safer, more accessible and more efficient transportation network.
Boerne’s population grew 70 percent from 2010 to 2020 and now has close to 20,000 residents, according the U.S. Census Bureau, while Kendall County as a whole grew 33 percent during that same period and is nearing 50,000 residents.The push to revise the thoroughfare plan has created more controversy than the mobility plan, as residents say they fear it could lead to their property being seized through eminent domain proceedings.
