.Boeing has been selected as the prime contractor for the nation’s intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) guidance subsystems support. The contract, which will continue for 16 years, calls for guidance subsystem support for the Minuteman III ICBM. 🚀➡️
Boeing landed a $1.6 billion contract for Air Force missile work, the company announced Thursday, and the mission will be supported in Alabama.
According to the announcement, Boeing will maintain the around-the-clock readiness and accuracy of Minuteman ICBM guidance systems — which have logged more than 40 million hours of continuous operation — to ensure safe, secure and effective strategic deterrence until 2039.
