Police are currently treating the death as unexplained but say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
The body of a man has been discovered at a fairground in Stranraer this afternoon, with police probing the "unexplained" death.
Emergency services were called to Breastworks car park in Stranraer, which is the site of a travelling Codonas funfair, shortly after 1pm on Tuesday to reports of a man's body being discovered. The fairground has been closed this evening as a mark of respect due to the bereavement. In an online post, Codonas Funfair said: "The fair will be closed tonight as a mark of respect due to a bereavement.Top news stories today A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.25pm on Tuesday, 3 October, 2023, police received a report a man's body had been found in Market Street, Stranraer.
“The death is being treated as unexplained, however, there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
