Last year Bob Dylan was accused of sexually abusing a minor. The suit was dropped without prejudice yesterday
, alleging he sexually abused her in 1965 when she was 12 years old. Yesterday, the accuser withdrew her suit, which came a day after Dylan’s attorneys accused her of destroying key evidence in the case. The attorneys said that by doing that, the alleged victim “irretrievably” comprised the case’s integrity. The suit cannot be refiled.
Last August, the accuser, who goes by J.C., alleged that Dylan sexually abused her between April and May 1965 when Dylan was either 23 or 24 years old at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. According to the original filing, J.C. claimed that Dylan “exploited his status as a musician by grooming J.C. to gain her trust and to obtain control over her as part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse J.C.
