A Blount County man pleads guilty to sex abuse of three girls.
Following his guilty plea this morning, the 43-year-old Thomason was sentenced to 14 years in prison on the rape conviction, 10 years each for the first-degree sex abuse convictions and one year each for the second-degree sex abuse convictions. His sentences will be served concurrently.
According to court documents, Thomason was charged with engaging in sexual intercourse with a child between the ages of 12 and 16, sexual abuse of a second child between the ages of 12 and 16, and sexual abuse of a third child over the age of 16.“Sgt. Hull continues to do an excellent job investigating child sex cases. He is a tremendous asset to Blount County and our sheriff’s department,” said District Attorney Pamela Casey.
Casey noted that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and said it’s important become more familiar with the signs and symptoms of child abuse and ways to prevent child abuse through the Prevention Resource Guide at
