New tropical noir Wiper taps into classic sci-fi, starring a private eye who wipes her memory after every case. But what does it mean when her latest mission starts to feel familiar? The graphic novel is coming in September, from DarkHorseComics.
The upcoming science-fiction graphic novel Wiper marries the neon aesthetic of Blade Runner to the mind-wiping of Total Recall. Promising a sci-fi noir that treads new ground while honoring the classic, the 120-page graphic novel hits stores in September, and has the creative team of John Harris Dunning, Ricardo Cabral, Brad Simpson, and Jim Campbell.
Considering Wiper appears to be operating within a world in which robots are average clientele and mind-wiping private detectives are the norm, it will be interesting to see what else Dunning has up their sleeve in relation to this already fascinating world, and Lula's story in particular. While clearly sci-fi through and through, the paperback is also referred to as a tropical noir.
