Barry Sloane plays Yosser Hughes in the stage adaptation
Garston-born Barry is currently starring as Yosser Hughes in James Graham's adaptation of Alan Bleasdale's seminal 1982 TV drama. Barry appears alongside a tremendous cast of Merseyside actors, including Andrew Schofield , Mark Womack , Aron Julius and Nathan McMullen .
He also touched on what he wanted to achieve with the role and the pride he had at returning to Liverpool for the play. Speaking to the ECHO during rehearsals, Barry said: "Coming back home to do theatre in Liverpool is amazing. It's a dream. Barry wants 'Boys from the Blackstuff' to inspire those from normal Liverpool backgrounds to tell their stories, unlocking talent that could otherwise be ignored within British drama.
