Illuminations season will be here before we know it
Blackpool Promenade will soon be taken over by a colourful show of lights when the annual illuminations return. The six-mile long family event has been running since 1879 and thousands of light will shine bright once again in 2023.
The 2023 illuminations will spark into life on Friday, September 1 and will shine until January 1, 2024. The family-friendly switch-on event on September 1 begins at 7pm and will see a party come to the seafront and will be centred around Tower Festival Headland.There will be a Nickelodeon Grand Parade along the Golden Mile and free live entertainment all leading up to the big switch and fireworks display above Blackpool Tower.
