Their progress since 2017 has been nothing short of historic: when the founders organized that first event, they weren’t really looking to create a conference series, but simply a gathering of like-minded tech entrepreneurs that happened to be black women – an uncommon pairing back in 2016, when Washington, Ighodaro and Gwynn were making their original plans. Today, Roadmap to Billions has grown from 30 people in a room at Google, to an annual conference of over 1300 people.
