Jerrmarius Deonta Sills, 21, was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. Friday at UAB Hospital, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. As a musician, Sills was known as Li Heat.

Police said Sills was walking when multiple suspects approached him and opened fire on him. More than 20 shots were fired.“Based on the evidence, we do believe the victim was targeted,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said at the time of the shooting.wounded in a shooting last year that killed his friend, 21-year-old Maleyk Bryant.

Inside, they found Bryant unresponsive in the front seat. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service at 12:17 a.m.
