A mammoth clean-up is underway after one of London’s busiest days in history...

A mammoth clean-up is underway after one ofEarly this morning, bin lorries and street sweepers were out to remove all traces of the thousands who flocked to witness the Queen’s funeral procession.

Some of the vehicles seen today had black ribbons attached to them, to mark the solemnity of the occasion. Many were leaving their litter on top of bins or by the side in areas such as Green Park and St James’ Park as they had become full up, despite the efforts of cleaners to regularly empty them.
