A prayer vigil is being held for former New York State Senator and City Council Member Bill Perkins, who died Tuesday at age 74.
The vigil is taking place on Wed., May 17 at 5 p.m. in front of the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building and is being officiated by Chaplin Robert Rice. Perkins served in the City Council representing Harlem’s 9th District from 1998 to 2005 and again from 2017 to 2021.
