We chat with BigShot stars TishaCustodio, Cricket Wampler & Tiana Le about each of their romances, or lack thereof, in season 2 of the DisneyPlus series:
The Disney+ sports series Big Shot has returned for season 2, and it sees the Westbrook Sirens being forced to welcome boys on their turf. When the school goes coed due to an unforeseen circumstance, distractions appear for some and tensions rise for others—and neither option makes Coach Marvyn Korn's job any easier. His plan to win the Division II championship is complicated by the girls' seeing how much better boys are treated in high school sports.
Cricket Wampler: I think we might be able to tell in season 1, but especially starting with season 2, Samantha is boy-crazy. She loves it. She's kind of desperate, and people feel that, so she doesn't necessarily find love right away. Maybe she doesn't at all; maybe she finds some self-love. But it's definitely a fun dynamic, and we get to see that play out. We watch her watch all the other girls get love, and she's like, "I want that too.
I think in the first season, she was very career-focused [about] college and very driven. It's what she tells Coach Korn in the meeting. She's like, "I'm doing this for college applications." I think for her, [being] able to show who she is when she takes away all of her other focuses and is able to just be herself and show a different side of her is really interesting.
The show is indeed very heartwarming, perhaps even more so this season than last. What is one thing each of you are most excited about this year? Tisha Custodio: I think the real storylines that this show has really create depth, and it really creates not just a heartwarming show, but [one that]'s real and raw. I think that a lot of people will take away a bunch of things from this.
