The region that has been pounded by relentless storms in recent months is expected to see mostly dry weather and even some warm days this week as more spring-like conditions take hold. While there's a slight chance for some sprinkles, there are no signs of any severe storm systems approaching the Bay Are this week, the National Weather Service said.
"We're seeing a shift in the weather ... it's springtime," said David King, a forecaster with the weather service."It's nice to see the sun again." Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be cool and dry with light breezes. The weather service is forecasting highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s and lows in the mid-30s to mid-40s.
Similar temperatures are expected on Thursday when a chance for light rain also enters the forecast. Rain chances continue into Friday, but only a few hundredths of an inch to a tenth of an inch are likely in low-lying across most of the Bay Area. The North Bay is expected to see higher totals, from a tenth of an inch to half inch, with up to an inch possible in the higher terrain. There could be some lingering showers, especially in the North Bay, on Saturday morning.
