Marcus Bentley, Big Brother's narrator, shared the surprising fact on social media
A number of Big Brother viewers have been complaining about the excessive use of the infamous ‘bird song’ to cover up housemates’ conversation during the show’s live feed on ITVX. The sound is typically used by producers when there are concerns about the content.
Marcus said: “Here is a mad @bbuk fact I’ve only learnt today. The ‘bird song’ that gets played during ‘Live Feed’ was recorded 23 years ago in the chief sound engineer’s garden- both he and the sound still work on the show to this day! #BigBrotherUK.” Tvreality93 said: “Love that I find the bird noise extremely nostalgic.” Iamchrissharp typed: “It wouldn’t be big brother without the audio cut and bird sounds.”
