President Joe Biden on Thursday slammed the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down affirmative action in college admissions, and said the ruling must not be “the last word.
” In remarks at the White House, Biden said colleges “should not abandon their commitment to ensure student bodies of diverse backgrounds and experience that reflect all of America.” Colleges and universities should take into account “the adversity a student has overcome” when selecting among applicants, the president said.
