Sanders' fundraising haul easily tops those of his 2020 Democratic primary rivals who have released their totals so far.
Sanders' leading competitors for the Democratic nomination, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., have not announced their fundraising hauls.
The campaign did not immediately say how much it had in the bank at the end of the year. But it had $33.7 million on hand at the end of the third quarter, more than any of Sanders' rivals. The fundraising haul at the end of the year follows a $25.3 million intake from individual donors in the third quarter.
