Ben Wallace says Putin 'must think we were born yesterday' amid claims Russian troops will pull back
Russia announced yesterday it would 'fundamentally scale back' troops. The Kremlin said forces in Kyiv and Chernihiv would pull back amid peace talks. But the claim was met with skepticism from Western leaders and officials. Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said Putin 'must think we were born yesterday'.
Boris Johnson meanwhile warned that Putin may still seek to 'twist the knife'. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he has not seen evidence to suggest peace talks were progressing in a constructive way. Zelensky scoffed at the Russian claims of scaling back, saying they were merely forced to retreat in the face of stiff Ukrainian resistance
