SAN JOSE — In a surprise move, Bellarmine football coach Jalal Beauchman has stepped down after three seasons in charge of the storied San Jose program, the school announced Friday.“I would like to thank the entire Bellarmine community for the love and support they have given me, not only in the last three years as the head varsity football coach but also for the several years I spent coaching on the lower levels and for the four years I spent as a student at Bellarmine,” he said.
“It is largely because of these young men that this decision was so hard. But it is the right decision for me to transition into focusing on my family and my future for the time being. I will miss coaching at Bellarmine very much. But I will always be a Bell. Go Bells.”
