'This test is done within five minutes and is much easier than going through chemotherapy'
A Belfast woman has opened up about the moment she was told she had cancer after skipping a smear test.
"I continued my travels and went on to Cambodia then I came back home and had an emergency smear. But they couldn't get the smear, and I was told to stay in the country, but I thought I could just fly back when they had an appointment. "Two months after my treatment, I was in Fiji working on the cruise ships again. I did my treatment, and had 65% chance of living, then I did a clinical trial, which gives me an extra 5% - so the odds were in my favour. The scans showed no more tumour, I was good to go, and I had to heal."
"My having sex, that will keep it open. It is an angle that I didn't think of, before this happened to me.
