Tim ran from East Belfast, down the Ards Penninsula and back - with plans already in the works to step it up for next year
A Belfast man recently ran 100 miles for a local charity in memory of his three friends who died by suicide.
After just six weeks of training, Tim tied up his shoes and set off on the 100-mile run at midday on Saturday, August 19, finishing up 32 hours later at 8pm on August 20. He ran from Dundonald, down around the Ards Penninsula, back through Bangor and Holywood into Belfast, barely taking any breaks and fuelled by four corned beef sandwiches.
"I'm glad I did it for my own sanity too because I would've been raging if I didn't finish the run. My friends Alex Brown , Brett Savage , and Barry McCune died in 2020, 2021, and 2022. "She's like an angel. When I was doing the run, she left with me and didn't finish until I finished. She's a full trooper."
He said: "I hope people who maybe feel like they need to reach out to the charity can learn about them and reach out for help. People are more open and want to talk more about these issues now.
