AJ Tinsley will compete with three others as they take on challenges inspired by the Ulster-Scots influence

A West Belfast fashion designer who has worked with international brands including Levis is set to compete in the new series of BBC Northern Ireland's A Stitch Through Time.

They'll want to prove they have what it takes to make it in the cut and thrust world of contemporary fashion.Each week, host Claire McCollum will be joined by author and textile historian Bruce Clark, a descendent of one of Northern Ireland’s great linen families, to reveal the fascinating history behind the design challenges and the outfits.

"The team then sent the fabrics across for me to prepare for the show which was a bit stressful because I wasn't sure what the fabrics would have been like when they arrived."
