No mercy: Behind the wheel of a 2002 Dodge Viper GTS
Owner Nick Dennis wasted no time buying parts for his 2002 Dodge Viper GTS on a Supermarket Sweep shopping spree to make it faster, angrier and more reliable. Something easier said than done, as replacement parts for these hand-built machines are unavailable and require a dedicated community of fans and owners.The idea of a"dream car" is beautifully subjective. It could represent a benchmark for success, a statement of status, or a simple desire.
It's like driving a Miami cigarette speed boat on land. It has no airbags, no traction control and no mercy if you make a mistake while piloting this 8-liter thrill ride. The loud exhaust howls in your ear as the RPMs rise and kick starts your heart with a fuel-injected shot of adrenaline. Feeling like a fighter pilot with hands at ten-and-two looking over the voluptuous hood shaped like the head of a pit viper snake.
Dennis, an automotive photographer from the Houston area, wanted to own this Mopar supercar since childhood. The first sight of a blue with white striped Viper GTS impacted him like an apple falling on Isaac Newton's head. From that moment on, he knew he wanted one. As an adult, he spent years searching on forums and collector car sites searching for the right car. He would go on to find his Viper GTS on Car Guru, the same site where people find secondhand Toyota Camrys.
