B.C. brand creates limited\u002Dedition collection of soaps that give back to ocean preservation projects.
To mark World Ocean’s Day on June 8, brand founder Tanya Droege created a collection of natural soaps called the World Ocean Day collection. To do so, she enlisted the help of students from a local elementary school to help create sea life-themed paper packaging for its bestselling soap bars. The drawings by the seven- and eight-year-old students were part of their Oceans and Pollution education, a program created by Droege and school teacher Erin Skwarok, according to a news release.
“We are fortunate to have this platform to build awareness and education around plastic pollution in our community and in the beauty industry,” said Droege in the release. In pairs, the students drew the sea creatures that they wanted to protect from plastic pollution in the world’s oceans. The resulting artwork includes turtles, starfish, whales and more along with the words “Help Me By Cleaning the Sea.”, a B.C.-based environmental protection group. This initiative sees an already nice product made even nicer thanks to its aim to boost ocean cleanup.
We love the addition of the colourful art to the packaging, which adds a fun element to the essential oil-scented soaps. Boasting a nice scent and lather, our tester found these soaps were a welcome addition to her bathroom sink.Share this Story:
