The 73-year-old legendary broadcaster shared his devastating news live on air on Wednesday and explained that he was initially diagnosed two months ago. As well as outlining his illness, the star told BBC Breakfast hosts that he was heading into an urgent surgery this weekend.
‘If it becomes more advanced, the future is a little bit more bleak for people. ‘We have caught it in time that surgery will knock it on the head. I’ve been so lucky.
