The event raises funds and awareness for needed freshwater wells in the country of Eswatini in southern Africa. During the Bay Village event, those who attend are asked to carry 40-gallon containers, according to Warren Renein, president of the Bay Village Kiwanis Club, a sponsor of the event for the past seven years.
