A bird won’t stop hammering on this new Seattle resident’s windows, despite her best efforts to reduce reflections. What now?
After 40-plus years in the Bay Area, I have moved to the countryside east of Seattle. My house is surrounded by trees and has large windows in all rooms. For the past three weeks, a male robin has been hitting my windows mostly in the mornings, all morning.
He has progressively gone to the adjacent window, then to the next, then the next. He is working his way around the outside of the house. I have lunged at him when I saw him coming and tried to scare him, but he keeps coming back. He is not hurting himself, but I just wonder if there is something else I can do to deter him, or if he will just stop when mating season is over.I bought this house last summer, so this is my first spring here.
