Officers ordered the man to drop his weapon. Disobeying, the man repeatedly placed the gun to his head multiple times, NBC10 reported.
The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. on I-95 southbound near the Girard Avenue exit, where authorities stopped a vehicle that was being driven erratically. When the driver stopped, a man then exited the vehicle armed with a semiautomatic handgun.
Backup was soon called in, which included SWAT and crisis intervention trained officers to respond to the scene and assist, At one point, the man, who was still armed, briefly got into the captain’s parked car but then exited with the gun pointed at his head. He even started both running and walking southbound on I-95,
