When Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes met in Sunday’s Super Bowl history was made.
It was the first time Black quarterbacks started opposite one another in the big game, and they certainly did not disappoint in the history making matchup. Mahomes accounted for 226 yards — 182 passing, 44 rushing — and tossed three touchdowns to win MVP honors and help the Chiefs take home a 38-35 win. Had Philly come out on top, though, Hurts almost assuredly would have taken home that big honor. And that’s because, aside from the fumble which Kansas City returned for a score, he was brilliant, too, finishing with 374 yards — 304 passing and a touchdown, 70 rushing and three more scores.
