Russia is running out of prisoners to send Wagner Group as the private army hired by Vladimir Putin continues to suffer high casualty numbers in the fierce fighting around Bakhmut, western officials believe DavidParsley50 reports:
It is understood Wagner has suffered between 20,000 and 30,000 casualties in the fighting around the eastern Ukrainian city, with about one in three killed.
“Given the right force ratio, the correct training, the manoeuvre elements that the Ukrainians are developing, I don’t see why they couldn’t be successful in mounting a counter offensive wherever they choose to.” “The death rates of Wagner have been significantly higher than of the Russian Armed Forces,” said the Western official. “Bakhmut has not been successful for the Russians. They’ve been grinding away for six months now.
“They are killing a lot of Russian there,” said the Western official. “It may well last for another month or Ukraine could decide to or to leave within a week.
