Baker Mayfield ended his social media ban to thank the city of Cleveland and state he's given the team and city everything he has.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- On the day the Browns flew to Houston to try to trade for Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield ended his social media hiatus to express his feelings.“With many uncertainties, here is where my head and heart is,’'“The past 4 years have been nothing short of truly life changing since I heard my name called in the draft to go to Cleveland. This is not a message with hidden meaning. This is strictly to thank the city of Cleveland for embracing my family and me.
The No. 1 overall pick in 2018, Mayfield could possibly land with a team such as the Colts, who are a quarterback away from contending in 2022. Plenty of teams still need starters, and Mayfield is expected to have multiple suitors, including some of the teams that fail to land Watson.The Browns wrapped up their meeting with Watson on Tuesday night and headed back to Cleveland to await the three-time Pro Bowler’s decision on where he wants to play next.
