SAN DIEGO – The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Friday for the 23rd time in 25 days, increasing 4 cents to $6.249.
Most recently, they blocked a measure to immediately lower the price of gas by $1 per gallon, which was proposed by Republican State Senator Janet Nguyen. Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, says the high prices are a result of reduced gasoline production, “along with the continuing overall reduced capacity in California to produce gasoline as refineries switch to green fuel production.”
