Just four minutes long, the glimpse was the opening to an upcoming tour by Good, as the pick for this year’sFive Little Indians tells the stories of five Indigenous children sent away to an isolated residential school on B.C.’s coast in the 1960s, and then follows their return home, and subsequent struggles to readjust, ten years later.on Indigenous people and, as Good intends, a conversation starter on the traumatic topic.

“What I hope the book does is inspire people to reconsider what they think they know about Canadian history, about residential schools and about intergenerational trauma,” she said. “There’s nothing more enriching than to realize you’re wrong, and to then embark on coming to a deeper, more accurate understanding.”
