Sing Out! goes from local pandemic production to the Big Apple.
It began with a passing comment among peers at the 2019 Tony Awards. Grammy-winning vocalist Mela Sarajane Dailey was sitting with a group of producers and fellow performer Beth Malone.
Almost a year later, SingOut! makes its way back to the city where the idea was birthed, more specifically Lincoln Center on June 20. The upcoming show comes as collaboration between the Austin Artists Project, which Dailey founded, and the theater publication. AAP was founded in 2019 to create opportunities for women, people of color, and the queer community, Dailey explained.
