'We didn't know how we were going to adapt it.'
bosses have opened up about the difficulties of adapting a story into the final product on the small screen.
The team is currently preparing for the third part of the fourth and final season, but these episodes proved to be a challenge with Hajime Isayama not holding back with the scale of the story in the original manga. Executive producer Manabu Otsuka admitted that they initially"lost hope" over completing the series once they read how complex the ending was .
"When we were working on The Final Season Part 1, we saw the end of the manga and the last battle. We lost hope because we didn't know how we were going to adapt that final fight," Otsuka explained.
