In this interview with Screen Rant, Ato Essandoh and Ali Ahn talk about what drew them to want to be a part of The Diplomat, as well as working closely with Keri Russell. The two also discussed their characters and whether they are anything like them in real life. Ato Essandoh: It's like the best script I've read in a long, long, long time. So, I wanted instantly to be involved in it because I read it in one sitting and was instantly enamored with it. It's so good.
Ato Essandoh: I care about the world in a way and I realize that these people are doing things that only can be done for the most part by people who actually are trying to make good change. And I think that's what I'm trying to bring into Stuart, but that's what was already written. So, I tried to supply that a little bit. Can you talk a little bit about working with Keri Russell? Because she's so commanding in this, and I just love watching her.
