AT&T lost more than 620,000 customers across DirecTV, DirecTV Now and U-verse cable
AT&T Inc.’s pay-television business lost more than 620,000 customers in the first quarter, while acquisition costs from the WarnerMedia business weighed on its bottom line.
The company reported a net loss of 544,000 DirecTV satellite and U-verse cable subscribers while it shed 83,000 customers in its online streaming service DirecTV Now, which includes free trial accounts. AT&T ended the quarter with 23.9 million pay-TV connections.
